I can second both behaviors... but VPN remaining checked after
disconnect is new behavior (11.04).. with the same VPN connections I've
been using over several releases where this behavior was not the case...
also I don't think its a timeout issue since the VPN is disconnected
according to logs...
sudo service network-manager restart fixes...
