Hi All, I had 10.10 running with nvidia drivers installed for GeForce GTX 460
I upgrade to 11.04 using alternative CD and select NO for take latest packages from INTERNET. After installation completed, I installed the nvidia drivers from Additional Drivers and restarted the system . I got unity working. Thereafter install 2.6.38-8-generic-pae kernel and after restart I lost unity. For me the problem occurred only after installing 2.6.38-8 kernel. ========================= sudo lshw -C display *-display UNCLAIMED description: VGA compatible controller product: GF104 [GeForce GTX 460] vendor: nVidia Corporation physical id: 0 bus info: pci@0000:03:00.0 version: a1 width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm msi pciexpress vga_controller cap_list configuration: latency=0 resources: memory:f6000000-f7ffffff memory:e0000000-e7ffffff memory:ec000000-efffffff ioport:bf00(size=128) memory:e8000000-e807ffff ====================== uname -a Linux voiceone 2.6.38-8-generic-pae #42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 05:17:09 UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux ====================== /usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
