Hi Luke, if you could briefly tell me which steps to do I really would appreciated that - I think I am not pro enough to follow those instructions mentioned in the comments up there on my own :)
Nonetheless I know how to use the commandline etc. For now I simply uninstalled the gnome-orca package via synaptics since i don't need text2speech at all.
