It appears that the entire workspace mechanism is broken: - Trying to "Put" (relevant Compiz plugin) a window to, say, workspace 1 results in that window being moved to a seemingly random workspace. Moving a different window to a different workspace sends it to the same workspace as the first window. - "Move next" and "Move prev" mouse bindings (from "Desktop Wall") do walk through the list of workspaces, but only until I end up on an edge workspace. E.g. I have two rows and four columns of workspaces; "Move next" and "Move prev" only work when I am viewing one of the center four workspaces. - Perhaps most telling is the fact that "Workspace Switcher"'s tooltip says 'Current workspace: "Workspace 1"' no matter which workspace I am at.
