Binary package hint: thunderbird
The following happens under the following conditions:
1. Opening an IMAP mail account (spec. Gmail).
2. Receiving an email dated into the future (e.g. a few days ahead from now).
3. On the main window of Thunderbird, group emails by: Date, Ascending Order,
and Group By Order. The last option (Group By Order) is crucial to reproduce
the bug; otherwise, it doesn't manifest and TB appears to behave normally.
When selecting Group By Order, the emails are grouped in expandable
vertical "tabs" in the email list, as is expected.
However, a new group appears on the bottom (when selecting Ascending
Order in the ordering). It has no title, is unexpanded, and counts the
emails containing it (in this case, "1" corresponding to the single
email that was received as confirmed through the Gmail's webmail
interface). This "misbehaved group" is unexpandable by mouse or keyboard
("+" key or "space" key) therefore there is no obvious way for the user
to open the emails under it.
Reverting back to the "Do Not Group" option does not show the "bad"
email message on the list. It becomes necessary to close Thunderbird and
restart it.
