The /var/log/dist-upgrade/term.log file doesn't exist. Only apt.log and
main.log are in that directory. I attached those two files immediately
after the problem occurred.
After submitting the bug report, I continued the installation
via 'dpkg --configure -a'. Everything seems to have updated
successfully, other than the nfs-user-server package.
After the update completed, I performed an 'apt-get remove
nfs-user-server', followed by 'apt-get install nfs-user-server', which
failed to restart the NFS server. Sorry, I don't have the actual
errors on my konsole terminal any longer. I'm recalling this from the
command history.
About an hour later, while testing MythTV and Mvpmc, I needed the NFS
server. So I re-removed and installed the nfs-user-server, and this
time it started the NFS server with none of the previous errors. Cool!
Just wish I knew what changed. :)
So it looks like my installation is complete. Unfortunately, I don't
have the error encountered during the original nfs-user-server
installation. In any case, the dist-upgrade package didn't handle the
error very well. :)
But thanks for a great product! I'm very satisfied with the
improvements to the upgrade process. This problem occurred on my
personal workstation, which also acts as a server for many apps used in
our household. So it has quite a range of "out of the ordinary"
configuration issues. Before this, I updated my laptop, kids' machine,
and wife's machine, and all went very smoothly.
Thanks, Michael.
