Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hostapd
I use hostapd to control a wireless card in a home router/access point. This setup was working in Maverick and has stopped in Natty. hostapd is started as part of the preup process for my bridge between my internal ethernet port and the wireless card. When I try and start the bridge with wireless, hostapd prints this: Configuration file: /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf ctrl_inerface_group=0 Failed to create interface mon.wlan0. nl80211 driver initialization failed. wlan0: Unable to setup interface. rmdir[ctrl_interface]: No such file or directory And the bridge fails to come up, when I remove all the setup for wireless, (leaving only eth1 in the bridge) it works fine but I have no wireless now. ** Affects: hostapd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/777383 Title: hostapd cannot create mon.wlan0 interface for wireless access point -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
