I have run the script but unfortunately it doesn't work. It was weird but I 
didn't notice the problem with installing cnijfilter-common (perhaps the reason 
of this fact was that I already had installed the drivers for the printer in 
Ubuntu 10.10) but even though after rebooting and printing a test page I get an 
error message: 'Unable to locate printer 'canon' '. 
I want to thank for your help but we still have a problem to solve.
