I was just about to post that I figured out the autoconf weirdness and updated the ppa. An updated indicator applet should be available in the usual way:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:goehle/goehle-ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade As for the notification... thats a mystery. It still works for me, and I've been testing out the patch for the past several days. Are you using unity?
