Public bug reported: After distro upgrade to Natty, wifi will only connect if signal is a full four bars (e.g. in same room as router). After moving the laptop to a room where the signal is two or three bars, the wifi disconnects in seconds. After a while it shows the annoying authentication dialog, but never connects. Moving the laptop back to a full four-bar signal reconnects it instantaneously and stays on forever.
Same machine booted into Windows partition never drops the connection in the same rooms. Before the Natty upgrade, wifi would only drop connection after some time (hours?) of inactivity (and would show the annoying connection dialog rather than automatically reconnecting). I'm not sure if this bug is an exacerbation of that bad behavior. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/776834 Title: Natty drops wifi if signal not four bars -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
