Without logs there's very little that can be do to diagnose this
problem.

Could you please see if after rebooting, you can get the /var/log/syslog
or /var/log/syslog.1 file that contains the details of your computer
trying to connect to the WEP access-point?

Also, does it do the same for WPA?
