as soon as you try to determine what layout you have by typing something or my clicking into the "country" pane and hitting the "g"-key for example in order to have it scroll to "germany" it DOES scroll to germany but after that you can sit and watch until ubiquity shows "ready when you are" but you will neither ever see your layout, nor a forward button...
