I have the same symptoms with an HP2133 after upgrading to Natty Narwhal: total freeze shortly after boot. I do not think the issue is (or is limited to) the broadcom wireless adapter/driver - - long ago, I replaced the broadcom wireless adapter with a Gigabyte wireless card that uses Atheros AR5008 and the ath9k driver.
I have no problems when I boot to the old kernel (2.6.35-28-generic).
