Hi, as you can see in all large Linuxboards all Users with a 8800 GTS or GTX have the same Problems.
Ubuntu only works at LiveCD but not after HD Install with the 8800 Cards. The Installer is not saving the Resolution choosed at LiveCD Bootmenu. After HD Install the only thing that works is to boot in safed Graphics mode and make a 'dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg' . Then it works in Safemode - but after Reboot everything is gone away. I have installed the nVidia Drivers with Envy after trying this - after Reboot same Thing as before. A Start at normal HD Mode is not possible - after GRUB there is immediately only a Blackscreen. Seems to be a Error in VESA or Bootroutine.
