I confirm this bug is present is gedit 2.30.3 Paste function sometimes does not seem to paste text, but if you change tab and go back to the tab you were pasting in, the pasted text will show at the current position of a cursor. I do not have multiple monitors, and paste short lines of text from OpenOffice Calc.
