Binary package hint: barcode

while trying to install barcode 0.98 via Synaptic the package download
stalled.  I cancelled the download and on rebooting the computer when I
accessed Synaptic it gave instructions to fix  the stalled package.
Completed the instructions and reinstalled barcode 0.98.  barcode
appears to be working but it is not what I need.
