Public bug reported: Binary package hint: restricted-manager
Problems that happened after upgrade from Edgy to Feisty: I was using fglrx with Edgy (using the xorg-driver-fglrx package from the official Ubuntu repositories). After the upgrade restricted-manager told me that some restricted drivers were in use (correct). After opening restricted-manager, there was the "ATI accelerated graphics driver" entry, but: - Status was "In use" - Enabled checkbox was not marked. (!) Since I wanted to disable the fglrx drivers, I marked the checkbox, and unmarked it again. The package was uninstalled correctly and I was told to reboot. After reboot, X could not start, because the fglrx driver could not be found. I had to run sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg on the console to select the 'ati' driver manually, after which I could start X normally. ** Affects: restricted-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Disabling Ati drivers in restricted manager leaves broken X https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107856 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
