Although the symbolic link are probably causing a problem, it is probably not 
the cause of the crash. The log show a native stacktrace with the following bit 
in it :
/lib/libnss_wins.so.2(_nss_wins_gethostbyname2_r

This makes me think it might be the same issue as this bug :
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/529714

Please try the work-around indicated in the bug : remove wins from the
hosts line of your /etc/nsswitch.conf

The symlink problem might be this other bug :
