Public bug reported: Binary package hint: banshee
Banshee fails to connect to internet radio streams until at least the third attempt. I expected Banshee to connect on the first try, or report some kind of timeout during connection. What happened instead was that Banshee failed to connect, reported nothing in the area where one normally sees "Idle" or "Buffering...", and the play/stop button returned to the "Play" icon. After attempting twice more, Banshee exhibited the normal behaviour. I have tested this with numerous streams, including DI.fm, Soma.fm, the Loveline archive stream, and CBC radio streams. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 10.10 Release: 10.10 $ apt-cache policy banshee banshee: Installed: 1.8.1-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1.8.1-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1.8.1-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/universe i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1.7.6-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/universe i386 Packages ** Affects: banshee (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/763281 Title: banshee fails to connect until third try -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
