Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Banshee 2. Play song 3. Pause song 4. Open VLC to play DVD 5. Video playback is jerky and freezes often - totally unacceptable 6. Close VLC 7. Close Banshee 8. Reopen VLC and play the same DVD 9. Enjoy perfect playback experience!
You can repeat this with another video player as well - same results.
