Edgy and Dapper boots fine. - Compiled a kernel from kernel.org, kernel 2.6.20.6, this one works fine. + Compiled a kernel from kernel.org, kernel 2.6.20.7, this one works fine. I get /dev/hdaX with this one and not /dev/sdaX as Feisty should do.
