Great work Robert!!! I added the PPA and performed a "sudo apt-get upgrade", and then rebooted. After booting up natty, the problem with screen corruption in menus and title bars was gone! For my testing, the DebugFlushBatches workaround was not in place.
Also of note is the missing "slow typing artifacting" that was inherent in the DebugFlushBatches workaround.
