Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dvd-slideshow
The preflight check detects many problems before too much time is wasted with a full run, but unfortunately far from all errors. Apparently, simple spelling errors and typoes like "kenbruns" or "Kenburns" instead of "kenburns" or "50%%" instead of "50%" are not detected during preflight check, nor are illegal combinations like a "wipe" command following a "background". It would be desireable for the preflight check to catch virtually all errors quickly. Maybe the code could be changed such that preflight check runs through its normal schedule "simply" with all real action disabled (by some $preflightcheck flag) and e.g. only "simulating" the existence of all created images.
