Public bug reported: I tried to install http://releases.ubuntu.com/natty/ubuntu-11.04-beta1-server-i386.iso on VMware Workstation on Windows XP. The bootloader runs in graphical mode but the installer runs in text mode. However, due to vga=788 parameter which is automatically applied, the screen remains in graphical mode and I can't see that the installer is showing a "Select a language" prompt. It looks as if the system freezes since nothing is visible in the graphical mode.
I had to remove the vga=788 parameter from the bootloader screen by pressing F6 and editing the kernel command line. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/754666 Title: Natty: Switching from graphical mode to text mode fails. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
