I think this had something to do with /dev/sr0 at one point. I've been trying to install Ub 10.10 and Kub 10.10 and Ub 8.04 to a USB key (and a hard drive) and the first 4 times I tried, it always threw up whenever it tried to read the /dev/sr0 block device, and the install never continued.
The last two times I ran it off the same Ub 10.10 LiveCD and instead it decides to throw THIS error. I've had more errors in 10.10 than I had running 8.04 the entire time. Also, I managed to get this same crash to happen while I was running GParted. Luckily it had just finished the operation I was performing on my Windows partition (yeah i know, curse me for using Windows). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/660942 Title: parted_server crashes during installation onto USB key. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
