I have this problem in Dapper; here's a piece of info I haven't seen in this thread:
It seems to be the case that the resizeability depends on the length of the title of what is being played. On this particulary (highly recommended, hehe) web radio stream, the title is very long: (#2) SomaFM: Drone Zone (128k mp3): Served best chilled, safe with most medications. Atmospheric textures with minimal beats. http://somafm.com/dronezone.pls If I run that url, Rhythmbox refuses to shrink (looks like the screenshot above).
