The abovementioned fix is included upstream in kernel 2.6.37 - see the
changelog at

As the original reporter has confirmed the fix on Natty, I'm marking

Upayavira - if you are still having problems with the 2.6.37 kernel then
you have a different bug and should file a new bug report.
