Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
This is a Sandy Bridge notebook with Nvidia Optimus and Intel HD Graphics. Googling and irc reveals that Nvidia is doing a nasty job with Optimus in Linux and hence the GT540M is useless and I would just consider this a stupid buy. However, even the Intel card is not working properly. Some menus, kmix, ... would show some barcode-like lines that I cannot see the text written.
