Public bug reported:

The dssi-dev pkg in Maverick depends on libjack-dev. If the user
attempts to install dssi-dev with JACK2 installed, this causes a back-
leveling of JACK to JACK1. However, dssi does not specifically depend
on JACK1. In Natty, this has been fixed. dssi-dev now depends on
libjack-dev OR libjack-jackd2-dev. This will prevent the back-leveling
of JACK2 to JACK1. Would like to see the same fix applied to Maverick.

As a workaround, I've uninstalled dssi-dev, upgraded to JACK2, then
built and installed dssi from the original source.
