Yes! I have the same laptop model (Asus X71SL) and pci=nomsi works. This 
is indeed better than nolapic as it leaves you use all cores on your 
machine. And I believe this restrains the search area for the bug a 
little bit. This may be just a motherboard issue, and out of the hands 
of the kernel developers, but I do hope this gets resolved someday.
