I am a Traditional Chinese User, and this is my personal opinion. I also don't want to edit 69-language-selector-zh-tw.conf, and I agree with Aron Xubug , the repor and fix should goes to upstream application. the root cause is those application can not show Chinese word correctly does not support font-config.
