actually a calendar daemon is not needed to display the calendar widget.
There is just a stupid check in the code whether evolution is installed,
preventing the calendar to be displayed.

So a quick workaround is doing

"sudo touch /usr/bin/evolution"

remember to remove that empty file once there is a proper fix.
