I'm also using the M3N78 Pro with an onboard GeForce 8300. I've had problems with it's USB support since day one (which was a debian 4 install). Every time I have a problem with a device I try it on another 64-bit system using a different mobo/chipset and also on an old 32-bit sempron system. I can get things like bluetooth dongles, cameras, cell phones, etc. to work fine on those systems. The M3N78 Pro is "volatile" when it comes to USB hotplugging. Plugging a device in often takes down most of the USB functionality.
As I pointed out in an earlier post, my biggest problem is that I am using a KVM switch designed for USB keyboard and mouse. Switching away from this server and then back to it usually triggers the problem. It will do it with cli or gui. I ssh to it from another system connected to the kvm and issue a reboot command. I'm definitely going to replace the motherboard. I've had these problems with every debian and ubuntu kernel I tried on it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/627862 Title: USB Mouse freezes randomly but consistently -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
