Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
I think the network-manager package should recommend the ppp package but not depend on it. Basically, most home devices provide a Wireless or Ethernet link to the modem. Thus the ppp connection is never used by the system. On older hardware, it could help to be able to uninstall ppp. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: network-manager 0.8-0ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-30.59-generic 2.6.32.29+drm33.13 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-30-generic i686 Architecture: i386 CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type Date: Sun Mar 20 10:57:20 2011 Gconf: InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100427.1) IpRoute: 192.168.0.0/24 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.0.11 metric 1 169.254.0.0/16 dev eth0 scope link metric 1000 default via 192.168.0.254 dev eth0 proto static IwConfig: lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions.
