as the original poster I'd like to add some information

I've added my syslog of the failed suspend.

also adding videodev(this is automatically removed when gspca is, but I
wasn't sure if it would get reloaded so I added that too) and gspca to
the MODULES="" in /etc/default/acpi-support

I'm not sure if this should be standard or a new gspca-module is needed
