Public bug reported: periodically the kernel will halt when i run s2disk, i have updated the kernel several times since I first noticed this.
the system just halts with "kernel BUG at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.35/kernel/power/snapshot.c:523!" "invalid opcode: 0000 [#1] SMP" as a result of the crash, everything in memory is lost, and when i do a reboot the last line in /var/log/pm-suspend.log is always just: Wed Mar 16 17:40:40 CDT 2011: performing hibernate with nothing after it. attached is a photograph of the kernel BUG, i dont think i thought to snap a pic of the last crash like this (last month?) This unclear resolution seems directly related, i cant tell if upstream fixed something, but apparently not if I'm still hitting this with fairly recent kernel: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=643376 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: linux-image-2.6.35-27-generic-pae 2.6.35-27.48 Regression: No Reproducible: No ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-27.48-generic-pae 2.6.35.11 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-27-generic-pae i686 AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23.
