I'd keep it open, this is more of a general go-to bug for the described problem. If this one stays open, people affected in other applications can be redirected here. bug #704833 is specific to dropbox and can be closed as soon as dropbox devs implement the correction. +1 to Sebastian's idea. Also, mirroring my comment #12 there, being bunched together with other apps in one menu still generates encouragement to port to the new implementation, while more or less conserving usability in the transition period. OTOH, in my opinion, people just whitelisting everything because their indicators are broken in Natty will not generate pressure on the respective devs to implement an indicator-applet solution, because "it works anyway"..
