Another note. This problem also occurs with linux- source-2.6.20_2.6.20-14.23.
Also unfortunately I no longer have 2.6.20-14.22 deb in my /var/cache/apt/archive directory and has disappeared off the mirrors. Since this is the only version currently working on my machine is there a way I can get linux-source-2.6.20_2.6.20-14.22.dsc and linux- source-2.6.20_2.6.20-14.22.diff.gz so I can recreate this package? In other words I can't find the Ubuntu equivalent of http://snapshot.debian.net/ (which allows one to recreate any version of a Debain package if needed).
