Public bug reported:
Kernels from last two days have failed to boot. A machine exception is generated during the sata discovery, and the kernel panics. This happened with 2.6.20-14.23 and is now happening with 2.6.20-15.24. Kernels from 2.6.20-6 to 2.6.20-13 and early 2.6.20-14 are fine - the system boots and runs without a hitch. Motherboard is an Abit AN8-SLI (Nvidia nForce 4), Processor is an AMD 64 X2 3800+. There are two internal sata hard drives, and one IDE cdrom drive. What changed during the 2.6.20-14 kernel series that could cause this behavior?
