Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

I've had three hard lockups of the whole computer in the last 24 hours -
everything freezes, no response to anything including ping, and the only
way to get out of it is to turn off the computer.

Each time has been on a page load in Firefox 2.0 beta 1 as it comes in
edgy. To be more specific, it may be during the loading of an image,
though I am not sure, it's very circumstancial. The cases when this has
happened is as follows:

* Loading of http://www.kylescholz.com/blog/ where the image
http://www.kylescholz.com/img/screenshots/screenshot_webzari.png had loaded to
about 10-15% when the system froze.
* Loading of a separate image from 4chan.org, that is no HTML around it, also
froze the system at 10-15% loaded.
* Loading http://planet.gnome.org/ where if it was an image involved, it wasn't
in the picture or didn't start to load at all.

It is not repeatable, if I go to the same URL again it works, in fact
the browser works fine for hours on end, until suddenly the system
freeze. I can't be 100% sure even that it is Firefox, but it's frozen
all times during the loading of a new page, and at least two of those it
has been specifically while it has loaded an image (and that was
probably the case on Planet Gnome too, as the HTML and text were
rendered already).

I'm running Edgy for 686, updated constantly, Firefox 2.0 beta1.

** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
