Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.20-14-server
Booting the generic version doesn't freeze. The last thing updated is usually something like [ 11.996106] agpgart: Detected an Intel 965G Chipset. but sometimes it is different. Compiling myself a kernel, it looks like what trigger the freeze is activation of PEA. I've tried to activate the debug highmem option, I then get very rapidly (nearly at the start of the boot) endless reports which scroll too quickly to catch anything. I'm able to boot a kernel 2.6.15 with PEA enabled. I'll join dmesg report from the kernel 2.6.16 with PEA enabled and from booting a kernel 2.6.20 without PEA. Hardware: Mother board P5B-Deluxe, Core 2 Duo 6600. If you need anything else, just ask. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Kernel 2.6.20-14-server Freeze on boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106313 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
