I'm not able to install hplip 3.11.1 on my Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit. Several dependency conflicts can not be solved.

Re-try #1...#3 Running 'sudo apt-get install --assume-yes libsane-dev' Please wait, this may take several minutes... error: Package install command failed with error code 100 When I want to install those in Synaptic, I got errors such as following. libcups2-dev: Depends: libcups2 (=1.4.4-6ubuntu2) but 1.4.4-6ubuntu2.3 is to be installed According to Synaptic, libcups2 on my machine is 1.4.4-6ubuntu2.3 actually. Could someone shed some light on it?
