No I can't repeat it, although I have a different printer (Brother DCP- 130C). Given there is no crash file in /var/crash, can I ask you to run a backtrace on simple-scan and replicate the crash? Please follow the instructions in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace, and attach the logfile produced to this bug report.
