Acer Aspire 5735, Ubuntu 10.10, kernel 2.6.35-25-generic

Same issue. ACPI error floods matching #43, inability to change
brightness, inability to boot due to powering up, spinning hard disk,
powering down, repeat

So far, acpi=off boot flag seems to have solved it, although I now have
no idea how charged my battery is, and I assume at some point it will
just die due to no power (rather than warning me/hibernating). I've seen
plenty of talk of patches made to ec.c solving this problem on the
Aspire's, can anyone comment on its win-rate on 2.6.35?
