I have had problems with Ubuntu 10.10 locking up on a Compaq Presario SR5109UK (original spec, 1Gb RAM) but without having done anything at all with Compiz. On a couple of occasions it's happened when using installing packages (Skype and Dropbox) and once when just web browsing.
Ubuntu is running in a dual boot set up (with Vista) managed by EasyBCD in a 20Gb partition. I've set it up for someone as a backup to Vista for getting online, so for Ubuntu to freeze up will be embarrassing! I (had already) updated the BIOS to 5.13 (latest, whatever it is). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/691195 Title: Unless Compiz Fusion Icon Running System Freezes After Login -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
