While using Ubuntu 7.10 x64 Desktop (Kernel 2.6.22), i downloaded 2.6.37 from kernel.org and disabled all sound device modules with "make menuconfig". After compiling and installing i upgraded to the newest Ubuntu version and successfully rebooted into the new kernel without any kernel panics! I'll try to find the exact module which causes this error.
