Btw, I have a Toshiba M200 and a Toshiba M400, still running WinXP. I want to run Ubuntu on them but right now I don't dare. Is anyone running Ubuntu on these particular Toshibas ?
If there is some fundamental technical incompatibility (beats me what it could be) between Toshiba and Ubuntu, then Toshiba should at least advise which flavors of Linux ARE compatible with their machines. I can see some potential legal issues here for Toshiba if people keep bricking their machines and Toshiba doesn't help. (A car manufacturer cannot force drivers to use only "it's brand of fuel" - and if they don't, the engine will self-destruct - and not tell the drivers about the incompatibility - etc.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/507723 Title: New Install 9.10 No boot Bios block3 damaged error. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
