Yes, I can attest to this.  I have this problem on both Ubuntu and
Kubuntu Feisty, installed with beta cds and fully updated online till
today.  OOstart freezes or crashes with a few different console outputs.
Problem goes away when I switch back to vesa driver on my x1300 ati card
(Dell E1505).  So this is almost definitely caused by fglrx.  I can
sometimes have openoffice work if I log in and out a few times switching
to Chinese interface and back to English.  Not really a repeatable
pattern as far as I can see.  Of course, after an X server reboot,
openoffice always fails again.  Below is a thread on the forum that
details the error messages and symptoms from a few people including
myself.  I didn't have any issue in the past with 6.10 and envy's fglrx
installer.

Probably a change of fglrx in the repo will help, I'd appreciate it if
this could be fixed soon.
