Public bug reported:

SETTING
I configured a printer in CUPS with the attached ppd file. Note that the
default page size is set to letter (i.e. *DefaultPageSize: Letter)

WHAT GOES WRONG
I opened a pdf in evince and wanted to print it. By default the printing dialog
of evince shows the option "Paper size: A4" which is what I want and which is
indeed my paper size. Printing with this setting works but top of page is cut
away.

WORKAROUND
Now, if I change via CUPS (http://localhost:631/) the default option "Media
Size: A4" it works nicely.

CONCLUSION: The "Paper Size" option in the printing dialog of evince is
silently ignored and the default for the option "Media Size" in CUPS is
used.
