Can you describe how you are updating the keymapping data? If you're doing it manually, I'm not sure there's a way within xkeyboard-config to automatically refresh the data.
I don't think it should be done automatically at boot, since 99.99% of users are not going to be changing this. I agree that it could be checked and rebuilt from gnome-keyboard-properties, however I'm not sure even there the use case is large enough to warrant doing it; I'm refiling the bug there for review, but suspect they may prefer to WONTFIX. ** Package changed: xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu) => gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/661586 Title: "Show Current Layout" image not refreshing with new keymapping data -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
